Why would boston ever do that? Debrusk for Bear and a 3rd is laughable.

Its laughable because bear is better than DeBrusk.

They don't need bear, or any RD for that matter. We need LD, top 4 LD.

Debrusk is having a down year, was scratched and his qualifying offer is sky high. He is a risky bet. Bear on the other hand is a low cost reliable, mobile top4 rd, those don't grow on trees. This trade is odd, I don't think the bruins want Bear and Debrusk's qo is too much risk for the oil.

If they also signed Galchenyuk they would become the first franchise in sports history to have employed the 4 top picks of a single entry draft at some point

    2012
    Yakupov
    Murray
    Galchenyuk
    GReinhart

Of course the Oilers would do that with the worst top 4 of an entry draft in sports history though lol rolling eyes

Idk sounds a bit like viewing one player with rose coloured glasses and the other player with a uh... less favourable colour of glasses... similar assets overall

With Bear having played significant minutes on the top pair so far his QO leverage is quite high as well

Debrusk with virtually no top line time naturally

DeBrusk also as had COVID and has admitted he has not mentally done well with be isolated from friends and family. Boston already has their top 4 RHD set.

Absolute, complete, utter, unsalvagable fail on that Elvis trade. We're not trading either of our NHL goaltenders early unless we get something we really really badly need - and additional goaltending prospects are the last thing in the world we could ever want at this point. Just throw that one out; it has no hope.

I'm not sure what you're trying to say here, but Bear's QO is governed by the CBA MOU, it has nothing to do with his on-ice performance.

When the Oilers can buyout James Neal for just a $1.9M cap hit, why are you throwing a 1st (in the deepest draft in a generation) AND a good young defenseman at Seattle to take him?

Bear is at a low cost because quite frankly he isn't good. Saying he is a top 4 defenseman is a stretch. He might be a top 4 defenseman on the oilers because they can't play defense. Having a down year amid shortened seasons and a pandemic while battling injuries and covid doesn't suddenly decrease debrusk's value that much. Debrusk for a third pairing defenseman will never happen.

Rumor is Boston is trying to get Hall. I doubt that would be a priority if Debrusk was getting it done, seeing as how you have Marchand and Ritchie on lw already. Disagree with your assessment of Bear, he is low cost because he is an RFA. Anyway, I'm not interested in this trade, so I'll leave it at that.
