Description
Considering the uncertainty and how weak this upcoming draft is. Would you have an appetite to move your 1st assuming you're picking 4th? And if so what kind of package would you be looking for I'd be willing to include the Canucks 2022 1st unprotected as one of the pieces.

I think if theres a player on the canucks id be alright moving it for would be in a package for boeser (canucks wont do that), otherwise personally i think they should just make the pick on one of the top forwards even if its at #4. With that being said though, if Dorion thinks the Canucks would stink next year the temptation of getting another ticket for the Shane Wright draft and some other pieces could be pretty tempting, im just not sure the canucks will be as bad again next year

How about... Nikita Zaitsev + the earlier of Ottawa's and Vancouver's 2021 first Rd picks for Nate Schmidt + the later first round pick?

Loui doesn't need to be part of it

na Schmidt is too valuable it would destroy the already weak right side. What about something like the 2022 1st, Dipietro, and like another prospect

I cant think of anything that VAN has (and is willing to give up) that OTT would want.

There are 4 assets in VAN that I like. Hughes, Pettersson, Hoglander and Podkolzin. None of which seem to be good fits for this kind of swap.

Ya Boeser is definitely a no go. It really depends on if Dorion really likes someone or not. Do you think something like a 2022 1st, Dipietro, and like another prospect is close?

You really think dropping 4 spots is gonna cost that much?

probably not tbh we have goalies up the wazoo right now, unless theyre getting 1 high-end piece in return, i wouldnt think moving our pick makes sense. We could definitley use a Johnson/Ekulund/Berniers/Guenther or even Wallstedt more than dipietro and what I think will end up being mid first. Dorion would really need to be sold on the canucks being bad next year for the 2022 1st to be the main piece coming back (im just not so sure that will happen again)

What would be the cost to just move down to the Canucks pick, like 4-5 spots? You would still get your pick at a couple of those guys.

i think that would be dependant on how the draft and the draft order unfolds (like if all the teams between us look like they could take a forward) but probably like a second-round pick or a decent prospect like Lind

You think VAN is going to finish in the bottom 10 next year?
