I dont know how comfortable I am with giving up Kerfoot for a rental like Foligno without getting at least one asset back for him, but its not out of the realm of possibility and I like Foligno as the perfect playoff type player. I think the Leafs add a depth player and a B level prospect to make salary work, but those 2 guys and Mike Rielly as a depth D are solid acquisitions.

You need more to get Foligno for sure. B prospect like Hirvonen and Kerfoot for Foligno, and relatively the same to get Jenner. Probably need a bit more to get Mike Rielly.

Not sure CBJ really want Kerfoot. They'd probably just take a better draft pick.

The team is flush with Bottom 6-9 forwards. They need to find a way to pull top-line, or potential top-line, forwards, be it by getting that player outright in a trade, or getting an asset(s) that can help get it.

I dont think so because they aren't retaining in this deal

Ya Ottawa is, so like a third or C prospect would likely be adequate.

Makes no sense for Ottawa to trade their 2LD for a late pick. Might as well resign unless we get at least a 2nd rounder back.

Makes no sense for the Leafs to trade their 3rd line centre...with term and other assets for an expiring 3rd line LWer in Foligno.
