Description
The Avs were cheated last playoffs because of injuries. These trades give them an impressive amount of depth. If Francouz and Johnson comeback in the playoffs then they will be tough to deal with.
Bernier trade is an obvious area that hurt them last year. I have a hunch that he’s be motivated by an opportunity to perform in the playoffs with his contract coming to an end right away.
Savard is a beauty fit for the Avs. With EJ most likely out for the season this guy will shore up their RD position right away. Will CBJ want more than Bowers and a pick?
Glendening gives bottom six C depth with PK skills and FO upside. Vet with jam left in his game.
Avs are definitely all in.

It will take more than a 3rd round pick to get Bernier. It will take at least a 2nd.

Do G’s usually get more than that? What if they offered a top G prospect like Werner instead?

Bernier won't cost a second. Maybe he would if he was healthy, but even then it's questionable.

If he plays Thursday as expected and looks good, I wouldn't be surprised if we got a 2nd for Bernier, especially with retention. With that said, a 3rd is fair. Now, Glendenning on the other hand, there is reportedly a crazy market for him and the reports are he will be going for a 2nd. I wouldn't be surprised if there became a bidding war for him and when the dust settles, we all go "wow, they got that for him?!?"

That’s a tough one. This type of situation plays out every odd year and players go ridiculous prices. Last year TB paid out a lot and it panned out. Colorado could swing that same kind of deal too.

I think people are crazy if they think Glendening is getting a 2nd, it’s a buyers market for a number of reasons, flat cap, lack of cap space, some borderline playoff teams that won’t be buyers no matter what, like CHI, NSH, SJS, AZ as examples, I also think there are a number of owners that don’t want any more expenses and won’t sign off on adding any salary. Though if there were a year where teams will over pay using 2021 draft picks this is it.

Exactly. The Draft this year is supposed to be weak and there’s lots of unknowns due to lack of exposure etc.
