Labanc = worth atleast a first +, I’ll be generous and say a 2nd and a spec which is a gross underpay.
Simek = worth a 2nd at most, likely a 3rd plus a asset
Gambrell = more valuable to us than just getting rid of, he’s starting to play well and play a good 3rd line role

Neal alone would cost a couple picks and or prospects to dump as his contract is ugly.

So you have largely filled your needs, even more so gotten rid of a contract that’s negative value. Whereas you haven’t met a single need for SJ to even consider the trade.

No idea who Simek or Gambrell are, but although Labanc is a nice player, he's not really the top 6 impact winger the Oilers need. He's more of a middle 6 guy with good offensive upside.

Would much rather keep Lavoie and the 1st and just buyout Neal. Also a very small aspect in terms of value in the trade, but Konavalov is the Oilers most promising goalie prospect (although I do like Skinner). Thats not really saying much but kind of an added factor for the Oilers to say no. Overall, not really a fan of this trade for the Oilers.

Neal's cap dump is easily worth a 1st so those two cancel out. So basically we end up with Lavoie and Konovalev for Labanc, Gambrell and Simek.

Now I'm slightly biased cause I like Lavoie and Konovalev is alright but from a value and need perspective this is pretty bad for the Sharks.
