More and more buyers every day. Love it.

Poulin would certainly be great for Devils.
And still think a Wood for Pettersson deal may fit for both teams.

If they're trading Poulin, it's not going to be for someone like Miles Wood

Ive suggested a Pettersson for Wood swap and Devils fans said no-- what do you suggest?

Burke did mention that the odds of a hockey trade taking place arent high. It is more likely just a trade that will make us better now, which will probably be a rental. Acquiring Wood also complicates things even more for the expansion draft. I would look into that this offseason, but right now, it doesnt really make sense.

I would not say no to Poulin.

NJD have plenty of prospect forwards...only so many roster spots.
We have few defensive d-men...and are likely about to lose Murray and Kulikov.
Ty Smith is fantastic...and Bahl, Mukhamidullin, Okhotyuk may get there.
But a defensive LHD clearly a need for us more than Poulin.

I'd think Wood for Pettersson one-for-one makes some sense for both sides.
(also feel like we are selling high and buying low, which is nice)

Is Zadorov even worth acquiring? I'm seriously asking. He's a pending RFA and currently making 3.2 million.

Big physical dman-- what we are missing. Some claim he is too slow but I think he would be fine

These are offseason moves though. In the interview today he clearly said that he doesn't want to disrupt the team chemistry and that he really likes the Depth at D. He wants to add a bigger physical forward and thanks to the play of McCann and Gaudreau he doesn't believe that to necessarily be a center. This just has too many major pieces being moved for a Hextall deadline.

Also, Zucker >>>>>>>> Laughton

There are plenty of offers on this website for Wood...and Poulin sounds about right if he were to be offered in trade.

Size, speed, shot volume, physicality, grit.
Some teams looking for those.
His weaknesses will be an issue for some teams, not for others.
(cannot play on off-wing at all, does not carry the puck well enough for some top-6, used to take a lot of stupid penalties although he is better about that now)

Not happy with his comments today.

The clear best way forward is to trade MP and get a physical 3rd pairing D and a physical F or W. He and Burke walked back prior comments about hockey trades. I hope its a smokescreen. This team has the parts to be a serious contender. If they play their cards right I think we have a shot but it is going to take some shuffling.

I also think MP is a great fit with NJD (among other teams) and I love Miles Wood but after Hextalls comments today I don`t know if he is willing to do that due to the expansion draft. Do you think NJD would give up futures for MP right now? Or a 3 way trade with a team where NJD gets MP and sends Wood somewhere else? Pens would then get their D/C in return?

Yep I hope Burke steps in and pushes Hextall pretty hard-- Sullivan should have no say before he brings in another small forward because he "is good for the locker room"

Yes pretty much. Previous two years he was our 2nd best defensive dman behind Dumo-- even competed for that at times

What type of futures?
I doubt they would give up anything meaningful for MP until off-season.

How about Zajac for 3c?
If he waives, wouldn't cost much other than his salary.
And NJD has plenty of centers to swap in.

He just doesnt move the needle for me. Sub 30 point winger at the cost of our best prospect isn't a good move for us IMO. If we are trading a high pick or prospect I want the return to be a young scorer that puts up at least 40 points a season.

Pettersson for Wood one for one

or

Pettersson Sceviour (make cap work) Bjorkqvist 5th for Wood Zajac 3rd
