Description
From @DevilsInsiders Twitter

"On 'Real Kyper at Noon', @RealKyper, says the #NJDevils have 'concrete offers for a 2nd and 3rd/4th or 2nd and a prospect' for Kyle Palmieri. They are sitting on them and trying to squeeze more...they want to turn that 2nd into a 1st."

I am just speculating the list of teams and potential offers they'd like.
Looks like a stand-off..... whomever offers that 1st picks first, wins.

Minnesota definitely declines, very quickly and emphatically.

Also, if they have offers for 2nd+3rd/4th or 2nd+prospect, the prospects in question are not going to be prospects with more value than the 2nd. They're going to be prospects similar to a 3rd/4th.

            OK, thanks.
It wasn't intended to be an offer - it was list of examples / possibilities.
            But will cross it off.

The BOS and TOR offers make a lot of sense for all involved. Don’t think NJD can squeeze a 1st with those prospects.

I know the idea is that NJD need D prospects but MIN has a glut on the wing that would be more likely. Maybe a Firstov if they really are in on him.

I think Fitz is waiting last minute to pull the trigger on a trade. Once Hall and Foligno are gone, one of those teams are going to bite on an offer

Addison, Liljegren and Timmins are all too highly-rated to be the prospects offered by their teams, though I think that all three should be in the derby.

            Did you say Matt Boldy?
            Ok, just checking.

Seriously, I really think its defensive prospects.
I could be wrong (am often wrong), but everything says it will be blueliner.
Maybe Ryan O'Rourke? Haven't paid any attention to him since draft. Any good?

Neither TOR or COL is going to add Liljegren or Timmins in a trade for Palmieri, if either of those were even offered NJ would have said deal deal deal.

MIN really doesn’t have any they’d move unless Johansson was of interest. And I guess if D men are what NJD is after, the Wild just aren’t a good fit.

Justa quick look tells me that it won't be MIN or TOR based on what you're asking. Way, way too much for Palms.
COL might be there too but I don't know enough about him to say for sure.

You should expect something in the realm of a 1st and a B prospect at best, not an A prospect. Almost no rental is worth an A prospect (if any at all). Plus it is a major buyers market although Palms might be one of the only guys who won't be majorly affected by it.

Fitzgerald could waiting for Hall to move and hopefully raise the price a touch . As a B's fan id rather not deal away Lohrei. Itll be interesting, obviously i cant say what the offers have looked like but im sure at least some of these names have been thrown around. Seems like for this deadline, it's been really tricky to gauge what prices are more than most years

It sounds like he has a bunch of offers (for prospect+pick) in hand and is waiting for one team to add a 1st. Hence, “first to blink”.

Maybe the offers are a crap prospect + 2nd and Fitzy wants the 1st. Or maybe they are studs + 2nd and he wants the 1st. Either way, it sounds like a market is set, and he is waiting for one team to go above that price.

I think Fitz is waiting last minute to pull the trigger on a trade. Once Hall and Foligno are gone, one of those teams are going to bite on an offer

I don’t think he would wait for Foligno trade. Maybe Hall trade. If anything, he may want first-mover advantage.

If that's the case, I think he would have already traded Palmieri. Last year, he made trades very early which definitely helped increase value. Maybe he's taking a different approach but you may be correct.

I can see it... with everything up in the air Hall's return may end up backfiring... also i dont think i would trust Buffalo's MGT team in setting the market. Itll definitely be interesting, hes a really good fit for BOS. I hope they figure out a way to get him.

NJ is going to be the first to blink, imo it is a buyers market. There are 4 or 5 clear cut teams and 2 in COL and TBL that are significantly better than other teams, and teams are already operating at a loss how many teams want to push super hard?

            Buyers market?
How many top-6 wings are available? Two, maybe three?
How many teams are looking for one? Six? Eight?

And there is plenty of cap space out there. Twice as many people on LTIR as there were at last years deadline.

            Did you say Matt Boldy?
            Ok, just checking.

Seriously, I really think its defensive prospects.
I could be wrong (am often wrong), but everything says it will be blueliner.
Maybe Ryan O'Rourke? Haven't paid any attention to him since draft. Any good?

Ryan O'Rourke, to me, is ranked above Addison. I have him pegged as sort of a Parayko style guy, and a guy who's going to wear a letter for this organization some day. He's really been coming into his own lately as an 18 year old defenseman in the AHL. He's also really the only LD prospect of note in our system, and with Suter beginning his descent, we're probably going to want him around in 2-3 years.

O'Rourke and Addison are the heirs apparent to the defense, and the list of guys I would include them in a trade for is very short, even if neither of them are thought of in the Byram, Sanderson, Drysdale tier of guys.
