Stop you're not getting Foote he is an essential piece moving foward. He certainly isn't cap fodder

I don't think it was implied he was necessarily

Him for Wood / 1st for TJ

I'm guessing 😕

Yes. It was kinda based on the Coleman trade. First + Prospect. Foote was too much so added Johnson to balance the value and to clear cap

Coleman trade was different much different Tampa Bay isn't a Miles Wood for Cal Foote away from the Cup if anything it makes them further from the Cup RD is severely weaker while Wood what plays 4th line come on man? Lw Palat Killorn Goodrow Rw Kucherov Stamkos Coleman C Point Cirelli Gourde whose spot does he take no one's!

This is why this trade takes place in the offseason. When Johnson and Killorn are traded and Coleman and Goordrow don't resign.

I don't see Montreal making this trade. To me, Butcher doesn't have much trade value.

Winnipeg declines. Aaron Dell is not needed as a 5th string goalie in the organization even if it is for a short span of time.

Hellebuyck: 2.54 GAA; 0.919 SV%; +11.8 GSAx
Brossoit: 2.63 GAA; 0.914 SV%; +0.6 GSAx
Comrie: 3.00 GAA; 0.909 SV%; +0.3 GSAx

Berdin: Development goalie in AHL
Dell : 3.72 GAA; 0.877 SV%; -3.1 GSAx

Those are pretty brutal numbers for Dell. I feel bad for Devils fans.

From The Athletic on Kulikov to Winnipeg:

"Dmitry Kulikov will be so well-known to Jets fans that I’ll forgive some of you for rolling your eyes at his inclusion here. The defence-first, big-hitting Kulikov signed in Winnipeg as a free agent in 2017, playing three seasons for the Jets before being allowed to walk as a free agent last summer.

Why bring him back?

It turns out that when you price Kulikov at a tremendously affordable $1.15 million, his strengths start to look quite appealing.

Don’t forget that Kulikov delivered positive-possession results while playing with Pionk last season. He and Tyler Myers were a very good third-pairing before that.

And Kulikov has been an effective shot-suppressor in big minutes for the Devils.

Ultimately, I think a team more desperate for a left-handed defenceman will take a run at Kulikov, but a little extra physicality at a good price can only help a playoff-bound team. If not for Logan Stanley’s emergence on the third pair, I think Kulikov would be a great fit in Winnipeg. Given that Beaulieu is out for the season, perhaps he still is."

He's only played one or two games and in those games he versed the Caps. He didn't do too bad
