In my opinion, these are the types of players Canucks should be targeting before the expansion draft:

-Players expiring after the 2022-2023 season,
-Players who teams may not want to use a protection slot on for the expansion draft
-players who are overpaid/their teams can’t afford them
-players on teams who would take a 1 year sort dump back in a trade (Virtanen, roussell, Eriksson would be the primary options). This one isn’t super important

If the Canucks can bring in impact players that other teams dont want or can’t afford, they will be set up to go all-in for the 2022-23 season.

Obviously some of these guys are much better than others, and some may not be moveable at all, but these are the types of players I think the Canucks should be targeting this off season and next offseason

Probably one or two players would be all the Canucks should add from this crop, but I have no idea what the trade values may be
