A first and 2 b level prospects seems to be good for a 2nd line winger having a disappointing season

He's been on a tear the last 10 games.

It's about what is best for the rebuild and taking a gamble on Mantha's ceiling is worth more than that return to the rebuild, specifically. If they decide to move Mantha, it will need to be for a very handsome return. An Isles fan posted an offer of Salo, Bellows and a 1st that I thought made a lot more sense if we were going to move him.

There is just no incentive for us to move him for anything less than a haul.

Show me on this list, who is considered an NHL superstar?

There are more factors, than AHL points. Neither of those players project as impact NHLers.

I have to agree...a 24 year old forward is no longer a prospect. Marody might end up in a bottom 6 in the NHL but as of now he looks like a very good 1st line AHL player.

Because the oilers don't need them to and don't want wait for them for 7 days to come up from California, I am just saying that Cooper Marody isn't a nothing prospect.

This is largely due to the quarantine rules. In a normal year they'd be up for sure, Holland as much as said so yesterday.

That's such a tough situation for the Canadian teams with US based AHL affiliates... like the whole Vancouver situation, maybe time to re-evaluate the farm team affiliates for those teams...

Up doing what? Sitting in the press box? Neither one was good enough to make the team. Period. If they were they'd be in the lineup. They're 23 and 24. They are not viable trade prospects for someone like Mantha. Think Broberg, Lavoie and a first. Nothing less would even be considered.

I wasn't commenting on the trade proposal at all. Because clearly you missed that point... but the Oilers' AHL 1st line is better than their NHL 4th line. So yeah, they'd be getting at least a tryout in a normal season.

I didn't miss your point you missed mine. They are 23 and 24. They didn't make the team at the beginning of the year. What's there to argue? And if your not commenting on their value in relation to the trade suggested then why are you commenting at all?

To clarify; I'm not concerned if they have value to you (I'm sure they do). I'm concerned if they have value to me: which they don't. At least in relation to this trade suggestion.

    tears of joy

Clearly you missed my point! I'm not talking about the trade or their values to me or to the organization, I commented to point out why they weren't in the NHL right now. Holland literally spoke about it this week. They aren't in the NHL today because he wants them playing as much as possible, the quarantine period and then bottom-6 minutes isn't something he wants his prospects doing right now. That's it. Go back and look at comment #17.

Again I didn't miss your point you missed mine. You are conveniently ignoring what I said about them not making the team IN THE FIRST PLACE. The Oilers are a team that has been desperately searching for scoring from tertiary sources and yet neither of them was good enough to displace someone in the lineup. Also, Ken Holland says that about EVERY prospect. They are almost aged out and neither of them moves the bar at all in a trade for Mantha. Which brings me to my last point you didn't address: why did you comment about them if it wasn't IN RELATION TO THIS TRADE SUGGESTION? For the last time I don't care if you think they have value, I only care if I think they have value in relation to the trade suggestion. Which they don't.
