Description
Heres my dream trades, obviously this is a ton and will not actually happen but some parts of the trade could/would make sense!

Part 1: Hallander is a great center prospect with medium trade value, with a second and a fifth buffalo would love this.

Part 2: Prior to the previous trade San Jose would have to take another half of Halls contract in order for the money to work and honestly think a third might be too much even and more than likely actually be a fourth!

Part 3: This is more of wish honestly and least likely to happen but I do believe that Nashville is still open to talking about Ekholm even though they are hot and could make playoffs. Liligren is a great prospect and along with another mid level prospect in SDA and the first is very close to value you would need to aquire him! I could see Nashville wanting a little more if they are going to retain half as well but I thought I would at least try to make a trade for him.

Part 4: I really think the leafs need a hard forechecking center that can also score in order to upgrade from Engvall/Kerfoot. Columbus deserpertly needs centers and I believe the switching the fifth and third evens out the trade, and also gives the leafs the cap space they would need.

Part 5: Trading Dermott to detroit gives you a little more cap room and also does not the leave the next draft completely empty for the leafs but also gives a detroit a nhl caliber young defencemen

Not too bad, some good value on both sides.

I worry about Liljegren's value though, hes finishing his 3rd professional season this year, with only 11 NHL games under his belt. I'm just a bit worried hes not nearly as valuable as we'd like to think.

Liljegren does nothing for me as a Nashville fan. We don’t really need him. Ellis is still 1st pairing, Fabbro has made huge strides, carrier looks great, Farrance is a good piece, Davies is looking good too. Just really no place for Liljegren.

Could use better forward prospects

Buffalo is likely to see a better package than this. And personally, I'm not a fan of Hall coming to TOR.

SJS would probably do that.

Not sure that is enough for Ekholm.

CBJ isn't going to take on a contract with term while also eating half of Foligno's salary AND upgrading our pick at the same time.

DET likely says no. Leafs should keep him as an option for SEA to take in the expansion draft.

Don't y'all play 50 year old Marc Staal 20 minutes a night? (Who the Rangers paid to get rid of btw) also your only young NHL defenseman is Hronek you could use at least one more

Wings have Seider coming next season. We'll enjoy using the 2nd Rd pick we got for taking Staal. Yzerman isn't interested in fast tracking a rebuild like Buffalo did.

Dermott doesn't fast tract the rebuild it's like when Dertroit traded young assets for Fabbri and Perlini last year. Young players not getting an opportunity going to a team who can give them an opportunity. Dermott could be a Perlini (but I doubt it considering he's been a legit NHL defensemen for 3 years) or he could break out like Fabbri

What's so great about Dermott? He's a 3rd pair D who doesn't excel at anything. He's a body. If he was any good then Leaf fans wouldn't be trading him every 5 minutes on CFACGM.

Exactly what Letter_Kenny said. Dermott is a body, nothing more. Adding Stall was about asset management and we got picks for taking him. Dermott has zero trade value and you don't give up a 3rd for a plug.

Also, you're way off on this. We traded DeLarose(who we claimed on waivers) for Fabbri and gave away a defensive prospect that fell low on our depth chart, for a gamble on Perlini... That is hardly giving up draft capital.

If you look at points then yeah there's nothing special about Dermott, but if you watch leafs games or look at his defensive analytics he's got top four potential without a doubt. He also was an okay point producer in his first year, the reason why he hasn't broken out is because he only plays 10 minutes a night because he's behind the leafs two best defenseman in Reilly and Muzzin

A young NHL caliber defencemen? I'm not saying theyre interested I just thinks it makes a lot of sense! You're joking if you think just thier prospects alone are going to be enough to form a good D core

This was a long shot for sure just my hopes honestly and although they probably wont trade him I still think if someone over payed they would! they have to play tampa in the first round and I do not think they believe this is the year to go for it! still appreciate the comment!

Fair enough some teams/gms are higher on him then others! SDA is a pretty goof forward prospect and the first rounder could be used for another forward but I totally see what your saying, the preds really do need more scoring for sure! Thanks for the comment!

We'll need to hit the FA market to fill a hole or two, but there's no value in us trading for a 6/7 defenseman.

It’s not lack of center depth. They actually have that pretty well covered. Their problem is lack of high-end centers.
