Do you mean wpg is on Manson's no trade list? Or does Winnipeg refuse to trade for him?

Winnipeg being on Manson's no trade list is great for them. If the rumoured price for Manson is true (top prospect and 1st rounder via LeBrun), then Winnipeg and every other team would be good to stay far, far away.

Winnipeg is one of the top 3 destinations (if not the top) for players to put on their no trade lists. This was even confirmed last year in the anonymous players poll conducted.

And yet we still have a pretty damn good teamtears of joy

Top 3 forward corps in the NHL (if not the top)
Vezina caliber goaltending
Only the defence is iffy af, but with Heinola Samberg knocking on the doors

It’s depressing seeing the amount of players that just don’t want to play here. It’s a great city and we have a great team and great organization. I get it’s cold during the winter, but to be a rental for a playoff run?? Why would you say no. I know Manson has a year after this, but you get my point.

Agree 100% with this but it sucks being a Winnipeg fan...especially one who lives here. One thing I can say over the years is that once players actually play here or are drafted into our organization, most of them speak extremely highly of the city and the organization. The majority of our stars (Laine/Trouba aside) end up signing long term. Examples: Connor, Ehlers, Scheifele, Hellebuyck, Morrissey, Wheeler. I understand we will never be able to compete with a New York or LA but I wish some players would give this city more of a chance! Rant over lol.

Agree with all of this. You can look at the majority of players who come here by trade or FA and say they loved the city, team and organization. Once they get here they love it. Obviously there are a few scenarios where it didn’t fit, but almost all of the players end up loving it.

Look at stastny. Came here, loved it, went to Vegas which is much more desireable than winnipeg but still wanted to come back.

The point is, when Manson signed it, he didn't want to come here...I don't blame him...but as he only has a year and a few months remaining, he may waive it...esp as he did grow up on the Prairies...

All the NTC means is that he has to agree to come here...just like Stas did when he was with the Blues

He can always waive. Or not, guy earned the modified NTC.
Price is suppose to be high...jets should stay away

I don't mind trading for him as long as it doesn't mean giving up Perfetti, Samberg or Heinola

I don't mind if Manson does not waive to come to Winnipeg as he isn't a pure rental like Stastny was, so it is a bigger family commitment to move for a season and change than just a few months. He earned his M-NTC (and likely paid for it by taking less).
