Hanifin/Puljujarvi trade proposal

Created by: Watty1
Team: 2016-17 Edmonton Oilers
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 6, 2017
Published: Jan. 6, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I don't think Carolina would part with Faulk. They love Hanifin but I wonder would they do this? Would Edmonton? Maybe EDM needs to send a draft pick too if they are considering sending JP down?

As an Oilers fan I wouldnt do this trade as a one for one because poolparty still has potential to be an elite forward in the NHL. If there were more pieces in play it might make it more interesting.

I think this would be a great trade for the Oils. Hanafin has loads of potential, and since he's an LHD, it gives them a chance to flip one of Klefbom, Nurse, or Davidson (keep Sekera, he's been amazing this year) for an RHD or scoring winger.

Hanifin still has more trade value than Faulk. Oilers would need to add here (not a lot, but something)

I don't think the Oil need another LHD although mentioned above you can flip Nurse or Klefbom but I don't see those guys having more value than Pulijarvi at this point so then what would you be getting in return realistically? Because you can just move out Pulijarvi for that returning piece instead straight up and maybe ask for more. But tbh I just don't see either Hanifin or Pulijarvi being moved right now, both GMs would be crazy to move on from these guys this early into their career as they both have high ceilings. Also if the oilers wanted a LHD then I think they would've traded down to take Sergachev or Juoleivi .

I think you are all a little nuts. Hanafin has WAY more value than poolparty. Yes Pulijarvi has some real potential here, however his season has not really shown him to be elite skill, where as D is always more valuable than wingers, and hanafin has looked really impressive. If you want D you'd have a way easier time pulling murphy or slavin, they are not letting go of Hanafin unless its a big haul.

Draisaitl was also terrible his first season, but came back and now he is an elite centre in the league
