Description
Anaheim trade can be to any team that is willing to take on Hagelin, again the value can be reworked in that trade.

Siegs is expendable with our logjam at LD, throw him in with a couple picks to get Hall and get Buffalo to take on Panik’s contract. He will be a serviceable middle 6 guy in Buffalo but can’t do much in Washington with a limited role.

Glendenning will take face offs on the fourth line but will play LW so that Dowd can continue to play at center. That gives our most defensively responsible line two centers who can take face offs, and one of those guys is the best in the league at it.

Sabres have Girgensons returning from injury next season, so they don't need Pánik.

Detroit isn't sending the 4th back. Starting price is a 3rd. If you want retention, that's what raises it to the 2nd.

I don't mind the DET trade because the 4th round this year is going to be a cluster due to Covid.

That said, you're not going to acquire the top FO man in the league then put him on the wing lol.

Just read the description, I said he’s taking the face offs then playing on the wing.

So a 3rd for glendenning straight up no retention is even?

    For Luke Glendening?

The ape in your profile picture is better

I'll offer a 1st rounder for him no retention needed

Why would the Sabres retain and take on Panik's contract?

Panik would be a 13th forward for Buffalo, thats not enough to take him on and get Hall. Its not off astronomically, but the Sabres dont have disposable cap

How does retention for a UFA at the end of year drive up the price to a 2nd....
Guy is 31 and has 11 points (3 goals, 8 assists) in 40 games. I do agree - 3rd is reasonable, with retention (which doesn't really affect the wings).

It has to do fully with it restricting our ability to use the retention on more expensive contracts, not the amount itself.

I would rather keep Siegy for the future, but overall I definitely don't hate these moves, and I think they all make sense. Good job.

it won't be that easy for WSH to move Hags or Panik.
2 more years of those bad contracts.
If you are lucky, you convince Seattle to take one of them. They probably aren't taking TJO

Regardless of the value, I do like the team that's here. I think Glendening would be a nice addition, and Hall would be a nice punch to add into the lineup, but I am worried about how every team he goes to turns into an instant dumpster fire

Hagelin is serviceable, just has stone hands and can’t score to save his life it seems. He’s still fast and a fantastic PK guy, just too much money right now. Hopefully the cost to move him isn’t astronomical.

Panik seems pretty much invisible every night. Not bad, just not good. Maybe he needs a bigger role somewhere, but I think he’s just going to end up being dumped somewhere and take league minimum contracts in the future as a bottom line guy.

My thinking is that our left side is set for the near future with Orlov, Dillon, Fehervary, Alexyev, and Geisser if he pans out. Dillon is probably gone before his contract is up, and hopefully the caps are extending orlov before he’s a UFA. Siegenthaler is already getting shafted my the organization, so I’d be fine with seeing him go in a package to bring someone who will impact us now or help us shed salary.

I see what you’re saying, if the second and third was changed to a first, would that get Buffalo to bite? I’d be a little hesitant to even make that trade, though.

I think in most other years, Hall would be worth a lot more, but it seems like it’s a buyers market this year and the caps have options to look at as far as middle 6 scoring forwards who are cheaper than hall. Rakell, Iafallo, Brown, Foligno, or Granlund.

I know exactly what hags is. The whole can't score thing is why he's not serviceable.
as for Panik, maybe a change is good. But no one is taking that from you for virtually nothing.
