Premise of all of it looks fine. Would need more on Labanc though given Tierney's a UFA after next season and his scoring has dried up this year and the underlying metrics have never been great for him at any point in his career (i.e. more of a passenger than a play driver). Labanc's counting numbers should be better based on his underlying stats plus he is signed to a fair market deal for a top 6 winger through the bulk of his prime. I don't think this is the kind of return that would be categorized as "the right price" per Sheng's article. Not at least given where the organization is at in terms of contending. Lesser player signed for shorter term without any significant cap savings just to move up 2 rounds in a less than stellar draft year isn't a needle mover imo.

I mean the "right price" is super vague. It makes me think it's like oh Doug is looking for a first and a prospect for Labanc. I'd take a first and a prospect for almost any player on this roster lmao. His contract is a slight overpay, which decreases his value. I think this trade would fill our need for a 3C, and get a player we're familiar with. Also allows us to have large amounts of cap flexibility, and pick around the same spot we got Bordeleau last season

Sheng clairified that every player could be had for the right price, and such a statement about Labanc is neither controversial nor surprising. In other words, unless it's a bananas return for him Labanc isn't going anywhere.

Re the 3C... If we're so determined to add a solid 3C we should target Kerfoot. He's on a better deal than Cobra, he performs better in the role, and TOR will want to deal him fast and cheap before Monday.

If this was a year ago, then I'd consider doing it, but Tierney has tanked, while Labanc has improved, Tierney is pretty solidly a cap dump at this point.
