Description
Not sure how far off I am on either of these trades, I think MN would have to add for Strome, maybe a mid-tier prospect, but also playing the angle that Strome is on for a year longer than Johanssen, and is buried at C and Chicago is heading for cap hell next year.

Looks like Gusev's contract is going to be terminated, maybe he would take another shot in the NHL to play with Kap instead of moving back to the KHL - And the devils get something out of it.

Let me know where I'm wrong.

Strome has more value than this and a mid tier prospect isn't the difference.

Strome is worth a lot more and honestly isn't even available

Strome will cost more.

Gusev will sign somewhere on a league min deal for the rest of the season. NJD is doing him a favor by cutting him and letting him sign somewhere else.

I agree that he’s worth more but I’d say he’s definitely available. I’d think a hockey trade based on Greenway-Strome isn’t far off value wise.

I’m not sure where the cap he’ll idea came from. They’ll be eating salary for assets if I had to guess.

Eh I think he's probably available. If Borgstrom pans out and does what the front office thinks he can do, his upside is higher at this point and Strome falls even lower on the depth chart. I like Strome more than a lot of people do, but if we can get a nice return for him we definitely should take it

Brodin isn't available. He just extended with a full NMC.

zero chance he's available until we know what's going on with Toews. If Toews is back and well, then sure he's probably available at the right price. With how early it is in the development of guys like Dach, Borgstrom, Suter, Kurashev, Richel its not a bad idea to keep strome around.

I agree, it varies, and Im not saying I want to trade him, because our offensive is definitely better with Strome in it, but I think if we can get a 1st for him I make the trade. At some point, you need to maximize the value of your roster spots, and while Strome is definitely maximizing it now, there are definitely scenarios in the next couple of years where we have more optimal uses of a lineup spot
