That's correct. You get a hart trophy winger who's had no support this season for 2 million cap hit who can play with Edmonton's elite centers.
Forget 2 goals, this is Buffalo. Jack Eichel only had 2 goals this season for Buffalo. He's an elite talent. This was a season from hell for them.
Swap Chaisson for Archibald if it makes you happy.
No offence but playing for Buffalo is not really a relevant argument. Good players produce no matter what team they are on. You can't blame being on a bad team as an argument for his poor play. Between powerplays and playing other weak teams, theres no real excuse for having only 2 goals. He put up good numbers despite playing on some really really bad Edmonton teams. Lots of players put up great individual numbers despite being on poor teams. Hall hardly produced with Eichel and has all but disappeared since he got injured.
Saying he can produce with Oilers elite centers is also not a relevant argument. Oilers need to pay through the nose because they have elite players that he can produce with?
Also "forget 2 goals"? Thats like extremely bad for a guy whos played most of the season. If he only had like 10 goals, people would be disappointed. Nevermind 2. Most 4th line wingers have potted more than that.
I'm not a Hall hater, and I actually would like the Oilers to take a stab at him. But a good part of my interest is the fact that his price should be reasonable due to his limited production. Obviously he's still a top 6 winger, but when his production is as bad as it is, you aren't fetching that high of value. That package isn't even that far off from Arizona, coming of a recent MVP season and a full year + of his deal still.
Also just a side note (doesn't really matter), but Oilers value Archibald way way way over Chaisson, so swapping the two makes it worse.
