A good d-man who wasn’t going to resign with the Wings for a 4th, from a team looking to do damage in the playoffs. Overall good trade for both teams.

If it’s this year’s Nemeth then Detroit wins. If it’s last year’s Nemeth than Colorado wins. Fair deal for now.

Good work Yzerman!

It’s great for both sides. Detroit has a chance to bring some kids up for late season looks now. Colorado gets a nice steady defender that can probably play top 4 minutes if needed in a pinch.

That's about what I'd pay for a player like Nemeth, regardless of whether there is retained salary or not.

I voted fair deal.

Like if you did too!

This is about the value I'd expect for Nemeth. Good deal for both sides.

Cost is low so buying depth makes sense. If anything the fact that Detroit still has to pay half his salary makes this seem a bit of a low price.

But how did a 16 minute defenseman who doesn't particularly excel at any part of the ice get 3 mil in the first place?

I think great is a little strong for such a depth move. Good or solid.

If anything I lean slightly towards Colorado value as I think he's worth a 4th, but anither 4th or 5th for the retention

It’s a raise from his $2.5M cap hit in his last contract, and Detroit had to pay a bit more to get his services as a rebuilding team
