Match

And then they are screwed because they only budgeted for bridge contracts for Hughes and Pettersson. This is why a team should do this and punish them for their cap mismanagement.

If they match, they have to start paying tons of assets to other teams to take their bad contracts.

Why lose Zucker? Has to be an easier loss

He isn't quite the player he was 3 years ago in Minnesota. 5.5 million is a lot for this kind of player.

For the 7 forwards would protect Crosby, Malkin, Guentzel, Rust, Kapanen, McCann and Blueger (who is younger, cheaper, and plays C).

well the fact pettersson and hughes want the same bridge contract acording to their agent i don't see pettersson siging an offer sheet not only that it's still easily matched

You would need to have 1 team offer sheet Pettersson and another team offer sheet Hugh’s to put van in real trouble, first off you have to get them to agree to a offer sheet which I don’t see happening unless Benning completely sours them in negotiations which is a possibility, secondly Van would easily match a Pettersson offer sheet and sign Hugh’s to a 1 yr deal and make it up to him the next yr after, Eriksson, Roussel and Beagle are all off the books.

Offer sheeting just one of them doesn’t put van in cap trouble, unless you offer sheet Pettersson at 7yrs times 12mil then ownership doesn’t match but no teams doing that.

the is issue is hughes isnt even able to been offer sheeted if he wanted too so i 10000000% gatrunee Van matches any offersheet towards pettersson and thats if a team is even able to get him to sign one his heart has been in vancouver ever since he was a little kid so your right here there is no way this even works

Sorry my bad about Hugh’s, yes don’t see Pettersson signing a offer sheet unless benning really drops the ball, but again didn’t see Aho signing one last yr either so never say never.
