So seattle could also take Jake or Gaudette, you're right. Young player with contract control would likely be preferred, assuming they have goalie options which it seems like they will.

So, it's sign a D like Savard if Holtby goes or they re up Benn or bring in a guy like Hakanpaa if it's 18 or 88. Honestly, wouldn't be too upset If one of those guys goes especially if it means losing more assets to keep them.

Mikey D is not ready to be a backup in the NHL. He needs more seasoning in the AHL. Canucks need to sign a reliable 1B to support Demko.

You're better off burying Roussel in the minors than to buy him out. It's 100K more and you're not on the hook for the following season.
LE is a difference of 875K, a bottom 6 player could be inserted.

In order for SEA to take Holtby, Canucks will need to give multiple assets. So if they really wanted Jake or Gaudette, both are needed for them to take Holtby.
There is also the scenario where the Canucks can buy out Holtby too.
