Chevy always makes that move no one expects. Maybe there’s something here?

Highly doubt this happens though. Especially considering the blues just lost pietrangelo too

If blues were smart and cut and run into a retool, over running this squad out for a few playoff years and limited success. I see this squad getting old fast and bad cap, possibly a future dumpster fire. But that cup will take the sting off

Never gonna get Parayko. And if you did, you'd have to throw in a piece like ehlers or connor

Connor or ehlers are non starters, so more likely no deal getting done.

I was actually thinking about Parayko being a surprise Chevy move. Would love to see it happen

Don’t have enough scoring. And have to play perfect to win. Lots of longterm deals that are going to look bad in my opinion. Heart and grit only gets you so far. Future predictions on my part, it may age bad

You can’t be serious. As good as parayko is, 1.5 years of him is not worth 5-6 years of connor or ehlers. Honestly, even without considering the years left, ehlers and Connor are better. Considering parayko is a rd, it’s probably somewhat close

Your argument is that Connor or Ehlers are under long term contracts???? Do you even understand how managing a team works? What happens if Connor or Ehlers become the next Dipietro, then you are strung along for 5-6 years with a bad contract. And during the next season, you have the option to sign Parayko to an 8 year deal where no other team gets that opportunity. Length of contract matters zilch in this context. We'll keep Parayko, good luck finding a RD that's comparable while offering a couple prospects and a 1st.

Lmao, I’m not so sure you understand how contracts work. And Connor and ehlers won’t turn in the next dipietro. Nor are they signed that long. Ehlers and Connor have history of being 60+ point players for their whole careers. Additionally, this is Connor and ehlers’ first contract (other than their elc) and they aren’t being paid until they are 40 like dipietro was. Parayko on the other hand, will lie Liu be paid until he’s like 35+ If he signs with the jets. That’s a dipietro like contract lol.

Oh, and the couple of prospects you mentioned: former first with top 6 upside, and a likely top 4 shutdown d. Oh and the first. Not sure it gets much better than that for a year and a half of a player.

This is laughable and I can’t believe I actually replied to this. The fact that you think contract term doesn’t matter is absurd. Cause the oilers were so stupid to lock mcdavid up for 8 years 🤦‍♂️ and if they trade him, his contract will hinder than....

Also, I’m not even going to get into how good the Connor and ehlers contracts are. Your argument is absurd

What’s your opinion of blues future, next 3/5 and handing out a bunch of loyalty contracts in my opinion. I just have a feeling that this team falls off a Cliff in 2.5 seasons. Playoffs lose in first or second round this year, and then possibly squeak in the year after and staring at a lot of older players on some lengthy contracts.

Idk, I think they are better than they are showing right now. They also have a lot of young guys in the system who could really push them towards contender status again. That said, if their top porspwxts don’t pan out, they will have too many old guys taking way too much many to spend and fix their team at UFA (like San Jose but not as bad). Tbh, if their young guys don’t pan out, we are probably looking at a perennial wild card/3rd seed team. Like the wild were for quite a bit. Had talent and depth but not enough high end talent. I could see it being very much the same for the blues
