There aren’t any big offers for UFAs this year. Nobody is throwing around a first round pick because they feel they need the first round player to get through the cap crunch. Taylor hall offer so far is a second round pick.

I didn't say anything about a 1st. But now that you mention it, expecting them to take some Oiler garbage and a late-ish 3rd is quite overly optimistic. In fact, asking them to take Chiasson might actually bump that pick near to a 1st. Eating crap cap ain't free, even if it's just to get you to the playoffs, and Hoff can probably fetch a back half 2nd/early 3rd on his own.
