Tampa would be foolish to trade ABB for Savard

trades already done and he wasnt moved

So its a 2021 1st + 2022 3rd also going to CBJ to add to this

so basically

CBJ got

a 1st and a 3rd

Detroit got
a 4th

Tampa got
Savard 50% retained twice
an AHL player

We probably would though depending on how big of a package this ends up being.

Assuming Laviolette is open to the idea of playing a line of Russian forwards together (I think Kovalchuk and Ovechkin got, like, two shifts together under Reirden), how would you sell the Caps on Grigorenko as opposed to E. Svechnikov or Protas? I like his faceoff success from last year with Colorado, but that doesn't seem to be a thing this year?

Also, I like the idea of Columbus auditioning Johnson at 1C. I don't think Johnson waives until after one more playoff as a favorite, and the expansion draft. He could be 1C in Seattle, too, and is from around there.

Honestly Grigs has been scratched some but hes been playing good in a bottom 6 role. The problem is CBJ have way too many bottom 6 guys. If im looking for cheap playoff depth and I was offered him for 600k, id do it for a fifth. I think he's certainly better than some other forwards who will be traded leading up to the deadline
