It's not disingenuous at all. A top-6 center is badly needed in any Laine return, and a #1C is the only thing we'd accept in a Jones trade. To have neither after trading both is completely unacceptable. It doesn't matter how much "value" you think you've cobbled together - if you can't meet the other side's needs, the trade is an unrecoverable failure.

Except it’s picks in a draft that Sakic is doing his beat to move picks out of and COL would still have to lose a player in the XD. I think if Sakic is inclined to move Graves it will be tied to wanting more cap space in the off season and recapturing trade able assets for future moves ie draft picks in 2022 and 2023.
