Ya, sure. He’s dealt with 2 injuries, multiple covid positives. Not concerned. If they trade him it’s in a package to upgrade, not get worse.

Trent Frederic has been Tanner Glass level bad so far in the NHL and just solid in the AHL is a decent reason but even then they should definitely wait a bit

BOS fans have been building Frederic and Studnicka for some time. The problem is, they have been drafting just as low as the penguins have the last few years, and trading away just as many 1st round picks. So their prospect pool sucks. It's only by some miracle that the penguins keep finding guys worth a damn to cycle through their bottom 6. But don't count on any top 6 players, we might have 1 in Poulin.

So is Zucker. Only 2 more points than Debrusk and a bigger salary. Plus he's old. We're not paying you to take that.

I say we got a few with Poulin, Legare, and maybe Puustinen now. Boston has been notorious at failing draft wise lately and it’s dumb to just instantly peg the Pens as the worst when it was just our idiot GM throwing the future away constantly.

legare and Puustinen aren't top 6 players. Legare will most likely end up a bottom 6 player. I like the kid, he's got potential to be a nice 3rd liner. But he doesn't have the tools to be a top 6 guy in todays NHL.
Puustinen, he's too small to play a bottom 6 role. That's my blunt assessment. I also don't think he has the skill to be a NHL top 6. He's only a top 6 player in the likes of Simon....who Crosby carried on his back every game.
The problem is Simon was actually a willing participant to go get the puck back for Crosby, Puustinen at like 5'9 probably ain't that guy.

JR made a lot of bad moves. but he won two cups too. They should have moved on a year or two earlier. But you know what, loyalty has to mean something.
They have been lucky to supplement their draft with the NCAA and FA pick ups, like ZOHO, who's come out of basically nowhere.
Guys like ZAR and Maniscalco and Marino falling in their laps. It's hard to get that lucky.

Boston has been failing draft wise, but every year plucks guys from its AHL team to contribute...Boston has had 11 players suit up for them this year that were drafted between 2015 and 2017. Our entire defense (when healthy) was built via the draft.
