Youre not going to get pelech for a combo there. He would cost a 1st+a significant package

No offense but I'm pretty sure the only way you'll pry Knyzhov and/or Ferraro from the Sharks is with a pretty big overpayment

The only names on that list that might be available are M. Anderson, Pettersson, Dermott, and Stanley. The rest would require relatively serious overpayments.

NJ isn't exactly competing soon so why not just draft a top end dman this year like Luke Hughes

I’d say Pettersson, Dermott and Siegenthaler are your guys. The rest would be very hard to acquire

PIT isn't going to blow up the blueline for a forward.
Nothing there is going to change that.

Fleury from Car is not on the list and I think he could be an option

Wishful thinking that Hamilton wants more than Carolina wants to give. He probably takes a bit of a discount

Dermott is who the Leafs fans on here hope Seattle takes. He's got some good skill/puck movement, but if they trade him, they also lose someone else to Seattle.

Siegenthaler could develop into a Larsson type of player, or he could just be an Andy Greene. I like a lot of the players you mentioned but WSH only has, like, 300k in cap space, and Siegenthaler only makes 800k, so the only one you mentioned that fits, I think is Boqvist, unless there are other players invovled. I think NJ might have to sweeten that a fair amount, or build a bigger deal, taking one of WSH's mid-priced checking wings and giving back an impact rental or two.

edit: I built something on the Caps side, here: https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/2330208

I'd love to hear back what fans on each side think. The value is better if WSH could offer the Richard Panik who played in Chicago as a 44 point player or in Arizona as a small part of the league's best PK, but maybe with more ice time he bounces back? If they can trade Wood out for a 1st somewhere, and get Panik to play almost like Wood, it could be a win?

Sure, Hamilton's points/60 are nice, but have you seen Nick Jensen this year? smile

I would say Fleury from Carolina or Bear are our best options. Fleury is on the block and Bear could be expendable with the amount of RHD the Oilers have

Plus Boqvist? Decent offer. I mean, Boqvist's good at puck possession, but call me when he puts up five hits and five blocks in one NHL game, or kills a penalty. SIegenthaler, I think, led the Caps' D in SHTOI last year. So maybe it's a 2nd.

Fleury gone to Ana for Jani Hakanpaa and a 6th

    Jani Hakanpaa

    Jani Hakanpaa • #28 • D
    Status:On roster
    Ht/Wt:6'5", 218 lbs.
    Born:Mar 31, 1992 (29 yrs) in Kirkkonummi, FIN
    Experience:1 years
Draftedgrinrafted by St. Louis in 2010 (4/104).
    Acquired:Acquired as a free agent in 2019.
    Shoots:R

    Scouting Report
Plays a very steady, cerebral game from behind the blueline. Also has great size for the NHL and is capable of playing a physical brand of hockey. His right-handed shot is an added benefit at the highest level. Does not always bring physicality to the arena, and he lacks consistency in the hitting department overall. Also lacks high-end skill so he does not produce big offensive numbers.

REALLY! We couldn't do better than Ana., jeez!

Did they need the cap space? Seems like weird swap.
