Description
I’m just very confused by the talk of trading for Foligno. He’d be good for a depth role and bring the “culture” but that’s all we have. And if Hall could be had for a 2nd or 3rd (which I kind of doubt) how he he not the guy you put on Fiala’s wing to get him the puck?

All of this assume the Wild are set on making an acquisition, which I’m not.

Doesn't sound like the value is going to go as low as a single 2nd with 4mil retention.
The prices I have heard are a 1st or a 2nd, prospect, and third asset.

Gotta imagine with palmeri off the market hall is really the only winger left.

If I had to guess, Hall gets a 2nd and a B prospect like Toffoli did. I was using the “rumors” that GMs have said they don’t see Hall getting a 3rd. Then again, these are the same GMs that think Coots in PHI isn’t a top line C.

I would say that's a pretty fair assessment of return. I think it kind of depends who is on Hall.

I've heard the rumors, but I'm not buying them. I can't see how adding another LW helps the Wild. I'm totally against adding Hall. I hope it's all just speculation because Guerin is talking to the Sabres about Reinhart or possibly laying ground work for a future Eichel trade.

Can definitely tell you Foligno's not going anywhere for that low. That said, I would be surprised if he goes to the Wild at all; the trade scenario that comes to mind involves a team chasing a Cup that needs the playoff experience. I'm not sure if that describes the Wild at this time.

You really are daft aren’t you? I’m confused why the Wild are “interested” in a 33 guy who doesn’t move the needle one way or the other and not a fast play maker to play with Fiala for roughly the same price. It makes zero sense to have interest in Foligno regardless any interest in Hall.

They should be out on everybody unless it’s a longer term thing. My point here is, why are we interested in Foligno at all?

Cool to be calling someone stupid. Yop, what an ass response.

Maybe because as Russo made it clear, bill Guerin values leadership, & the fact is nick foligno can play c better than all wild current c's.

Nick foligno isn't being acquired to play wing

Here’s the thing. I don’t think Foligno is definitively better than any of the option we currently have. And I’m well aware that Guerin values leadership but every single move he’s made has brought that in as the main piece. You need talent to win as well and can’t win on leadership alone.

And FWIW, I called you daft since you didn’t read the purpose of the post. You just spewed the Russo rumblings all of us have heard back at me.

Yeah I just read in the Athletic that the Wild do have interest in Foligno at the right price. I assume they would see if he can still play center, but I don't personally think it's a great idea.
