Laine

Description
Most hawks fans won't like this move but I think he could be great next to Dach. Laine needs a team with a passing center that also won't have to be traded in aquiring Laine. Dach is a perfect match because he literally refuses to shoot the puck. I think Laine-Dach-Kane would be an awesome line and I really think debrincat is getting good enough to carry his own line without Kane. Hawks are one of the few teams that have both the assets and money needed to aquire Laine

Mmm, no. The only reason for any Strome interest here would be to see if he clicks with Laine; if we have to trade Laine to get him, then there's no point.

It makes sense for Chicago.

It doesn't make sense for Columbus though. Strome's not signifcantly better than the likes of Domi, Texier and the lot when it comes to Jackets centers, so this mostly adds to nothing for them.

I dont like this from a Chicago perspective. What can Laine do that Debrincat can't. Cat is a better forechecker despite being far smaller and theyre essentially the same guy on that PP spot. We aren't giving up much to get him but I think I'd rather keep that Cat-Dach-Kane line. Removing a guy who is top 5 in goalscoring this season from his line when hes playing with a top 10 playmaker is not a good idea. Look at how it went with Skinner in Buffalo

I don’t want to be the team to pay Laine a bunch of money to play inconsistently and be a defensive liability when he’s not going. The guy got knocked down by Adam Boqvist yesterday, that’s crazy.

Yeah, I don't want Laine. I completely understand his snipe is lethal...because it is. I just don't think that makes up for his lack of effort/desire to play a 2-way game. Every team CAN have a guy that solely focuses on offense, but you can't have a team full of them. Pass form CHI point of view. Oh, and let's not forget he wants to get PAID big bucks too. That'll be a problem in no time. I mean, dude was also just leveled by Boqvist. Not exactly strong on his skates.

That 1st L(a)ine would be sweet. He isn't the best defensively but maybe in a market he actually would enjoy he might try a little harder. I want to trade strome for something and I think the Borgstrom deal solidified stan-bo's plan is to do so. Lindholm I believe you have mentioned before is also a great candidate. Would be tough trading kurashev but 2 of the top 10 maybe 5 shots in the league would be on our team, maybe even 3 of the top 10 if you include all 3 of Kane Laine and Cat. As for columbus, kurashev is the piece they'd want more than strome, but I see them running into Winnipeg's problem where he doesn't want to be there so it decreases his value. Overall, I like it, but can understand why others might not.
