He makes $6M this year, $6M next year, $3M the year after, and then only $1M per year for the last 3 seasons. It's very unlikely he finishes his contract.

Habs get away totally free, zero cap hit for them if Weber retires early. The CBA was changed so the players recapture penalty cannot exceed his average cap hit, so it means NSH will no longer get hit with a $24M cap hit if he retired in his last year but it will be dragged out longer.
