Evolving Hockey has him at $2.6m. If he likes Tampa, a possible discount could be in order.

Tampa always manages to pull something off though. That contract is a joke but I could see him get like 3x3.

On the market this year, Why shouldn't Savard be asking for a contract Similar to Chris Tanev? I think he gets 4mil easy. Him taking a pay cut to win is still probably 2.5mil at bare minimum

You don't give up a first round pick and then some for a guy only worth $2M annually. Savard will probably be looking for something in the 2-4 year, 3-4 million range. But I will say that it's not impossible he falls in love with Tampa (winning culture, no income tax, etc.) and he takes a little discount.

I’m all in favor of not giving up draft picks for Johnson so that trade works for me. Little low on the Savard deal but it’s tough to predict what type of deal a guy will take. Honestly this is a good case scenario for the Bolts and if they can keep a stacked D core that’ll make the adjustment process easier for the young forwards.

I could probably add another year or 2 at the current AAV, but if he wanted to stay in Tampa this is probably the highest we could go since I doubt we consider a 20 player roster as an option.

I had a lower AAV initially, but my memory was recalling a lower number for a different player (lots of numbers at the TDL lol). But this would lock up our defense for the next 2 years, and then we always seem to produce a forward or 2 per year.

Sucks thinking that we're just grooming Colton just to move him with Johnson he might be the enticing prospect Seattle may be looking for to take Johnson.

I think the thing that's worked with trading 1st round picks last season and this season is we've traded them the same draft and playoff year. If we trade the 2022 1st to Seattle, but then want to acquire someone next year with a first, we'd be trading the 2023 1st. There's no telling how early that pick could end up being, so there's more risk involved.

If Colton to Seattle saves us our 1st I think it's a no brainer. Young centers should be the hardest thing to come by for Seattle, so I'd imagine they'd like to have him.
