I mean 2 months ago u could have got Ekholm for Heinola in a 1 for 1 but losing Heinola would not have been worth

there really wasnt anything from the flames (other than mangiapane) that would have moved the needle for us. Our forward core is set, didnt need Nesterov for D depth, but what we really needed is goalie insurance as Campbell has a sore leg, freddies timeline is unknown, and hutch has been clutch but also has been unstable. I trust Rittich more should freddie or Campbell go down than I would hutch.

I wouldn’t trade Heinola for ekholm 1 for 1. I’m glad Chevy has stayed out of these overpayments. Wait till closer to the deadline when teams get a bit desperate, if the price isn’t right just stay put. Chevy is always smart and patient. I’m calling an Oleksiak deal to the Jets tomorrow for a 2nd and Niku.
