Idk, is he going to play the left side?? I think the shine is off that turd, even for DJ. He was scratched for a few games, and deservedly so. The two Russians are basically locked into those spots, and I can't imagine it makes sense to start JBD on his off side. Would totally handcuff him for no reason.

I would be surprised if Dorion either Claims Victor Mete, or trades for a piece that could have a more long term (next year plus) fit in Ottawa. Dreger mentioned a while back that Pierre Dorion was looking to make a "hockey deal", which to me is more than just selling UFAs

I think it's something like that. I would definitely be using this stretch to take a chance on a Mete (the timing is perfect), or a hockey deal for someone who can play beyond this season could be in the works. Who knows? Dorion is a crazy ****.

My guess is that tomorrow we see Gudbranson and Forsberg dealt (Murray is nearly good to go. Won't get anything for Hogberg) for a couple more late picks, and we see Victor Mete claimed off waivers. Maybe Dzingel gets dealt, but LeBrun said there's not much of a market, and he thought Ottawa would be better served keeping him, and I agree.

makes sense to take a flyer on mete, the seasons a wash, the defense is in shambles till the end of the year anyways; plop him in and see what happens. Maybe he fits well with JBD on the third pair

Mete-JBD would be a pretty sweet combo, but the really exciting thing here is that we're going to see Erik Brannstrom playing with Zub. Branny is going to take off.

I really have a feeling he's going to pop off. Playing almost exclusively with Gudbranson has hurt more than helped, and I think once he has someone who actually supports his play style, he's really going to start getting to play with his skill more.
