well Detroit is 26th in P% and since Seattle joins too Detroit actually will probably not be close to the lottery

I don't want to talk about it...

First time in a long while I was happy that I missed a game due to having school next morning and had to sleep it off.

At least you can watch the games, here and in Canada it’s a Toronto fest. I was able to watch one game this season and it was on a weird TSN channel.

It's hilarious to think that people from Europe has better chances to watch the games they want compared to people who live in Canada - the nation of hockey.

In Canada you get your local team and some american channels so you don't exactly have many options

Ya I know it’s kind of bull****. What’s worst the Canadian division isn’t even interesting to watch.

I got nhl live, which lets you watch all games except you "home" team. I live in Saskatchewan, so Winnipeg, Calgary, and Edmonton are all my "home" team. In other words, over half the Canadian division games I can't watch. It's very annoying. At least I can watch hockey night in Canada and playoffs.

That's completely ridiculous honestly.

Here in Finland we get to watch every single game of every single team. The only real problem is the time difference - pretty much all Dallas games come 3.00 AM for example.

They've done very well regarding the broadcasting rights I reckon.

So in the playoffs last year you could wake up and watch the games that were at 11:30 AST, they were at 5:30 AM for you? I had to stay up until 2 AM half asleep and watch the games, my sleep schedule then was ****ed.

Yes, during the CGY series all Flames home games started 5.30 my time. Usually those were more easier than the 3AM games, because I could go to sleep like 10PM and wake up at 5.30 or so, so I could get a good amount of sleep. But that isn't a great option when the games start at 3AM...usually if you sleep a couple of hours before that, you tend to be so tired that you just fall asleep again during the match.

Broadcasting rights here are a bigger deal. Regional blackouts are common, and you're limited to whichever team is the closest most of the time. You can always pay more to get the games that are on other channels.

Television networks, especially sports-specific ones, are really puzzled on why a lot of people are cord cutting and watching via online streaming. I haven't the faintest why.

I guess I'm a bit privileged as I can watch pretty much any game I want.

But honestly that system in there sounds like completely horsesh*t.

The NHL gets broadcasted here through one streaming service, who I guess have bought the broadcasting rights for the Scandinavian region from the league itself.

Naturally the cost of that service is pretty f*cking salty (35€ or $40 per month), but honestly since that said service provide some other good content for me as well (soccer for example which I also like to watch, and some movies) I'm happy to spend the amount. It works like a Netflix but with lots of sports content as well.

Just watch them on 720PStreams or Sportsurge online without a blackout.

Sorry if it's illegal to say what sites have free hockey steams to any mods reading this

I hope Dominique Ducharme realizes that Ben Chiarot is not the superstar defenseman he thinks he is. Can't believe we're icing 7 dmen and we still manage to bench our 2nd best.

It's either him or Sakic.

I think Sakic deserves a ton of credit. People think of that offense when they think of the Ads, but that defense is pretty elite. Sakic basically built it from scratch which is almost impossible to do. And they're only gonna get better in the coming years b/c they're all young. Amazing. The Ads Cup window is open for the next decade!!!

It's funny, but this season I've probably watched more Canadian games than in the last 5 seasons combined b/c of the great storylines and rivalries. The fact that the Devils (my team) are terrible probably plays a role. I mean, there's so many great matchups in that division. In a normal year, who wants to watch VAN and ARI or CGY and ANA? Give me EDM and TOR or MTL and WPG any night of the week.
