On maybe the only positive note from the WSH vs. NYR game, T.J. Oshie has scored a hat trick in his first game back after his father’s passing. Awesome to see him score and honour his father. Just great for him.

On another note, I started watching the semifinal game of the U18 World Championships.

Gotta say jesus christ that Michkov kid is looking good. Having such a lethal shot rivaling actual NHL players at 16 is quite astonishing.

Bedard, Michkov, Wright, and Lambert are already better than anyone available in this year’s draft.

This is pretty much Masterton trophy worthy. Kinda like Ryan scoring the hatty in the second game after his return from rehab.

Tell me about it.

Why bother having a draft this year? OHL and many other junior series aren't even playing this year.

It's a nightmare year for scouts and juniors.

Gonna be so many "steals" and "busts" in this draft. The next Griffin Reinhart is in this draft class somewhere.

I would argue Simon Edvinsson, because he's been fantastic, but yes.

Shoutout to my new favourite 2021 draft prospect, Logan Stankoven

Reminds me of a more skilled Gally, hope the Habs pick him up

I remember watching Clarke beaver tailing instead of calling for a pass and I was so disappointed. He has offensive prowess but I wouldn't use a high pick on him

He's the reason I'm bummed the Leafs don't have a 1st this year.

Plus JRob for Calder.

I think Kapriov gets it. More goals (probably points too), team in the Playoffs, leads his team in points by a decent amount.

It all depends on how the votes feel about his age/KHL experience and p/60 stat.

It really is too bad it's a short season. I would have liked to see how they would have done over an 82 game schedual.

What? Gorton and JD were the guys trying to distance themselves from the statement. How does firing them "clean it up".

Who put out the statement criticizing Paros? Why and how could that statement be released without the oversight of the front office? Either way, it reflects very poorly on Davidson and Gorton.

Well i think them wanting to distance themselves from the statement was the straw that broke the camels back

I don't understand that strategy at all. Doesn't it look worse for them that they let the statement get out of they didn't agree with it? They should've just stood behind it once it was released or not let the statement get out ion the first place. Either way, it looked like there was poor leadership and a disconnect between the team and front office and owner.

"The Athletic has also learned that the team’s official Tuesday statement regarding the NHL Department of Player Safety head George Parros, following the now-infamous Wilson-Panarin incident Monday, was all Dolan’s doing. But whether Davidson or Gorton were on board with the statement — which could have long-reaching after-effects for the franchise — was not the reason for the twin firings."

-The Athletic

I just read this article so plz disregard everything I previously said. Regardless of what happened behind the scenes, it appears there was a rift developing between ownership and the front office all season. What I don't understand is why Dolan would grow impatient with the rebuild so soon? The Knicks have been terrible for 20 years. I thought the Rangers were on the right track and everyone agreed with that.

Canadian teams are cursed. One of them is getting a guaranteed spot in the top4, but honestly I can't even remember the last time a Canadian team got to a conference final on merit.

I'm considering sailing the Florida ship. I've liked their game this year and I feel bad Ekblad had to have that season ending injury against us. Plus it's not like they have many fans here lol.

Get on the Minnesota wagon. Everyone loves an underdog story.

Nah, they stole our RR, we were stuck with the tic tac ones.

Cheer for the leafs guys! I promise they aren't going to blow a game 7 lead again...

He's my favourite prospect this draft. I have him at #1, if the team doesn't need a forward he's my pick.
