Your trade here is just not going to get it done. Rakell has one more year on his contract and Manson, as a defenseman, is going to be able to fetch top value. Your trade needs to be bumped up significantly. Which may be why Chevy hasn’t made a move.

I agree that Savard woudve been what the jets needed, but I would be irate if they paid that price.

Yeah giving the 1st is tough, but I do think a Savard and another depth dman is enough to maybe give them the push against Toronto. I firmly believe that goalies are odd- great a few years, average the next- maybe Hellebuyck just stays this good for the next few years, but while you have him this elite, I would want to capitalize on it. Wheeler is old, Scheifele is older and has probably hit that peak, I think some of that great 3rd line might be ufa (not sure, probably should have checked). This is not to say that the Jets are some how done- they obviously are not. Ehlers is in his prime and that line has been great. But if that 1st means you get a great defensive dman that could help your elite goalie stay above water, and the jets continue to convert at a high rate, maybe they make some noise.
