They should though
All he needs: low key franchise where he can mature
Then everything is elite point producing gravy
Umm... what?
1) Where do you actually get off thinking Minnesota is
Low-key? We're the farthest thing from it.
Ignored because of our mediocrity for so long, sure. Flyover Country because of where we are regionally, you betcha.
But here's a newsflash.
We're like the 12th highest gross population out of 51 states in the US. The 3rd largest market in our regular Central Division behind only Chicago and Dallas, which means we're also a larger market than either St. Louis, Nashville, and Colorado. We breath hockey like Texas breaths Football. Our state high school hockey tournaments are on a similar level to those for Texas football tournaments, and outside of Canada, we're easily the most hockey centric culture there is.
Name me another state that has 5 Division-1 college hockey programs.
OR
How about the little fact that a little over a quarter of all current US born NHL players are from Minnesota. That's the highest percentage of any state in the US.
Just because we're ignored nationally, doesn't mean we're necessarily a low-key team or that our fanbase would accept or want a trash human being. Because ADA
isn't a distraction, he's a locker room cancer, and a pretty big one at that. Furthermore, this isn't about maturity either, as he's already 25 years old... he is who he is at this point, a grown ass man whose shown and proven himself to be an absolute ass hat. It's about who he is, and what he is... And at this point that's not going to change or pull a 180, a person's personality is fully developed by the age of 20.
2) Dumba>>ADA
ADA is also highly overrated, far more than Dumba ever is or will be. He was never elite, and I honestly don't know where that dribble ever sprouted from.
3) Our GM has been
extremely vocal ever since he was hired that he only wants players of high-character on the Wild roster, so ADA would be a instant deal-breaker. Everything else that's coming back is great, extremely tempting even, but the bottom line is ADA kills that deal dead the second Gorton suggests and tries to include him.
Guerin says NO.
