That trade doesn’t come close to moving the needle. Just don’t think the Jackets and Flyers are good trade partners.

It's funny how a player like Laine works. Flyers fans have wanted a true sniper since LeClair yet they also hate people who only score goals

I just don't see Laine moving this season or offseason without a really great return (1st line center +). I think it's likely that he will rebound next year when Tortorella retires and CBJ tries to get a playmaking center to set him up.

All of the “superstars” but Ryan Johansen have left during the Torts era. His contract is up after this year, and he likely isn’t re-signed. CBJ probably pull a one year deal with Laine to see if it was just Torts, and go from there.

But yeah, only way Laine is traded this TDL or offseason is if someone steps up with a serious overpayment. Think along the lines of what they would’ve gotten originally for PLD+.

Honestly this makes a lot of sense. Also because he is a RFA they can control his rights. I mean if he really didn't want to play he would sit out and I doubt it comes to that as long as torts is gone.
