Not playing Wahlstrom had nothing to do with Wahlstrom. It had everything to do with not wanting to waive Komarov or Johnston, for some unknown reason.

I honestly loved the lines from last night. Zajac does exactly what they want Leo to do for Barzal and Eberle, only better, while the 3rd line is made even deeper as a result of having Palmieri play with Pageau and Wahly

My understanding was that Wahlstrom was banged up a few games back, and now that Trotz had greater depth on his roster, he figured he had the depth to let Wahlstrom rest.

This is optimistic of me to say, but it could be an indication that Trotz absolutely plans on using Wahlstrom throughout the playoffs and wants to be as sure as possible that he’ll be healthy.
