Vatanen is on waivers

Given the Devils are retaining in this deal, it would come with the assumption he made it through waivers.

NJD have used 2 of their 3 salary retention spots on Zajac and Palmieri. They won’t use their 3rd on Vatanen. Will use for Murray or save it for pre-expansion draft trade (the GM has been quoted on this latter use).

I would love Ryan Murray on the leafs

I think they will be keeping Murray. Was reported this morning that they will hang onto one of their veteran d-men (Murray, Kulikov). And since Kulikov appears to be getting serious trade interest (and was scratched last night for precautionary reasons), it is likely him that goes and Murray that stays.
