that will be a decline by the Avs

Calvert is better than Janmark, so why are they trading draft picks to downgrade the winger. They may have interest in Janmark as a panic pick up move, but not at that price.
a 5th is more like it

hes been injured. And he is a stellar forechecking defensive winger who is excellent on the PK. Janmark is pretty bad defensively based on his metrics and if he didnt have a 10 game hot streak producing, he would have an awful stat line

There's a hard limit on how many players you can retain salary on (remember Olli Maatta and Brandon Saad?). Chicago is hopefully keeping its power dry to retain on Zadarov / other players they want to trade.

I think edmonton is looking for more of a right shot center. If he was right shot I would say no brainer.

You mean like Glendenning who contributes absolutely nothing besides draws. Who care what shot he is if he contributes secondary scoring, wins draws and can kill penalties.

The Handedness didnt matter so much before but now teams can pick the side they take draws on and edmonton is getting killed on the side where right shots have the advantage.
