This is a contract that you grit your teeth and sign if you're trying to contend NOW.
WTF are the Kings doing?

Great signing for the Kings. No trade for Iafallo.

What? He's a steal at $4M. Kings wanted 3 years @ $4M. Iafallo wanted 4 years @ $5M. Kings got the AAV they wanted, Iafallo got term he wanted. Everyone wins.

He is at best market rate at 16/4 and likely a slight overpay by the end of it. Furthermore he will be on the downswing of his career by the time the Kings are ready to do anything. This is exactly the contract you sign if you have no vision, you're trying to rush a re-build, or trying to contend today. The Kings aren't ready to contend and the other two options are BAD. He should have been traded.

Also, every contract that is near fair value isn't a steal. This site over uses the word SOOOO much and this is a great example of it. He is a middle 6 winger, 4 is the max he should make.

I guess this puts an end to all the Iafallo trades. Great value.

if I was LA I would have made a deal with Iafallo where they trade him to a competitor, he tries and win the cup, and during the offseason returns to the kings

so in the end La probs walks away with a 1st and Iafallo in the end

Until he does well on the team he's traded to and decides to stay. Can't risk it IMO. The Kings were right to lock him up now.

Not too bad tbh. He seems like a solid middle six guy, can hopefully mentor some of the younger guys coming in as well, analytics look solid. Maybe a slight overpay of like 500k but I actually like this one.

Toffoli signed for MTL 4,25 m last summer and now Iafallo signs for 4m. What a deal for Bergevin.
And do't get me wrong Iafallo is good and he deserved that extension, I'm just still amazed that LA didnt sign Toffoli last summer.

Decent signing. If the market isn't there at this tradeline, sign him up and explore trades in the following seasons if aren't as far along in their rebuild as they think they are. Obviously if there's a NTC or NMC to this contract the signing becomes more mediocre.

Iafallo would have about 52 points if he were to keep up this pace in a 82 game season. Great signing if he can maintain 45-55 point seasons.

Iafallo is valuable in LA because of his chemistry with Kopitar. He is exactly the type of player the Kings are looking for. The coaches fawn over him constantly.

The Kings tried Toffoli on Kopitar's wing numerous times and they never really clicked. IMO, the Kings were right to move on from him. The Kings system has always stifled scoring, so it's good to see him successful elsewhere. He wouldn't have had the explosive season he has had with LA

This isn't going to be look good for the Kings in the near future. Don't think Iafallo is currently worth this now or in the future.

I had him at 3.4M x 3years, but frankly he was one of the most difficult future UFA to evaluate because of his big production on a short period as a (very) late bloomer.

He had leverage as possibly the most desired UFA center hitting the market (IMO Danault, RNH and Landeskog will resign) .

Sorry @random2152, but he would have been a very good catch for Seattle on the market. Now their best bet for 1c is... Kerfoot 😬

Wouldnt Henrique be the 1c in Seattle considering Ducks waived him and are probs gonna leave him exposed.

I see Seattles center core being

1st Line = Henrique
2nd line = Johnsson
3rd line = Kerfoot
4th line = Accari

and I mean u can have a 3c in the top 6 with good wings and it works just look at Vegas with Stephenson between Stone and Pat

I had him at $4 million for 3 or 4 years, so this is what I expected. https://www.capfriendly.com/forums/thread/438919

I think that he was a mandatory re-sign for Rob Blake because he fits the team so well. I'm happy with the direction in which we're going.

If Henrique isn't good enough for Anaheim, why would he be attractive for Seattle?!?

Im not a fan of capdumps in the line-up (like Johnson too). Vegas did it but for LTIRs.

I agree with you that good wingers will be essential to their success. Good thing there will be a lot of good UFAs to boost their 2 top lines.

remember when Carlsson went from CBJ to Vegas and people didnt think he would be anything special. A change of scenery can often help a player

would not be surprised if Henrique bounces back and becomes a 20 goal scorer with them lul.

Also @aadoyle, It will change before the draft but I have Kerfoot, Tierney, Sissons, Bennett and Holden as Seattle's center line as of now. Iaffalo would had helped a lot.
