    Well, yeah. But they ain't. It's Oshie or Vanecek, and I'm betting the Caps make a deal to ensure it's Oshie, and he'll be the franchise's first captain.

    i wouldnt count on that... they might trade Sammy and go with VV and Copley. Samsonov hasn't been good and VV is 100% the better goalie been preaching this for years

    If anybody gets angry at this, you said it, not me. But I would absolutely not hate that move, beyond going with Copley as the backup, because I suspect you're right. I haven't seen anything from Samsonov that makes me want to bet the future on him, and VV's given me a lot more confidence. I'd want another cheap vet.
