Description
We had a first-rounder, Harkins, Vesa, and guys like Chrisholm to improve the defensive core going into the playoffs and chevy settles with Benn...... Tucker Poolman is our top pairing RHD like what the heck. We will struggle against the oilers if we play them first and then get swept by toronto. Thanks chevy

Honestly, even if Bucky takes over, the jets still won’t get past mcdavid with that d-core imo

Brian Dumoulin, Ron hainsey, Olli Matta, Trevor Daley, Justin Schultz and Ian Cole were the D corps for Pittsburgh when they won...they had good forwards and great goaltending...may the Jets do the same...lol

Lets look back in a few years at this. Wpg has been great at scouting they could get a steal in the draft. They also have cap space this offseason.

Imo there were no rd that would move the needle enough 4 me, i can tell you henny is prolly happy hes 1 injury away

The lack of going for it by Chevy is frustrating. This team is built to win in the next couple of years. Why hold on to all these draft picks when we have really good prospects in our pool that can come up and make an impact in the next year or 2?

If the Jets would have added a top 4 RHD like Manson or David Savard this team would definitely have beaten the Leafs. The Jets D is very weak. Morrissey seems out of it a little bit and not like he has looked in the past. but inject a defenseman like Savard or Manson who can elevate his game like a Buff or Trouba did then we are talking about a very strong d corps. Especially when Heinola gets playing.

Moving Heinola might be the sacrifice that has to be done to get a big RHD with term

Yeah and that's not happening. We may have gotten pretty much nothing at the deadline this year, but trading Heinola would probably be the dumbest thing Chevy could possibly do. He is the future #1 dman on this team.

I hate to break it to you but he won't be that, he's gonna be similar to Pionk. In order for the jets to succeed they need a player similar to what Trouba provided but without the attitude. Heinola is too small of a player and that's gonna be a liability come playoffs

Thats a big boomer take right there. So you're telling me, Cale Makar one of the very best defenceman in the league, is automatically bad because of size. Lol

American defencemen are a lot better at being physical and compared to Finnish defencemen, Heinola won't be the guy to go into the corners with big power forwards while Makar can. That's the difference
