I think this trade was good for Caps fans because it moved the Mantha trade far enough down on the trade list that it no longer appears front and center without choosing to torture yourself.

Washington gets a player that can contribute in the playoffs for a pick that has less than a 10% chance of playing in the NHL full-time.

And Flyers are picking up a tab for 400K by retaining 25% of Raffl's salary.

I voted for the Washington Capitals.

Love Raffl and think this is a great depth pick up for the Caps. We weren't using him as much (in the healthy scratch rotation) and I am just as happy to get some kids the ice time as we crawl to the finish of the season.

Caps get a good bottom 6 secondary scorer for a 5th. Caps win.

Are the Caps serious contenders with that goaltending situation? Can they beat NYI? I'm not sure they'll be able to outscore their goaltending issues against a top notch defensive team in the playoffs.
