I dont understand the logic behind the Avs sending a 1st to give away EJ. Hes bene injured 99% of the season. He is not an issue at the expansion draft since why would seattle take a 33year old 6m player who has injury issues. He will waive his NMC for the draft based on early indications.

plus he has a M-NTC, you know he has it blocked to Detroit

get what you are doing. Just dont think Avs are dumping EJ. Wont impact their XD lists and if hes hurt long term he will be LTIR/retirment territory.

There’s no reason for CBJ to dump Domi. He only has one year left, and they’re in no cap crunch. He also has more promise to either rebound for them, or get a better trade return than a 3rd.

Domi is finally starting to mesh here and turn around is bad start. Most notably he has found a little bit of chemistry with Laine who we are desperate to get going. With our lack of depth at center and no other center coming back the other way there is just no way a 3rd rd pick is enough. Maybe a second plus your top center prospect gets it done. Need a more tangible nhl asset in return. I look at a 3rd rd pick as essentially nothing, almost you getting Domi for free.

Fair enough to all of you.

I signed Detroit's rfas and looked at the team and realized there was half a roster to fill in at forward and a couple d.

They aren't at a place to splurge on a Ufa so I kinda just looked around the league at players who seemed may be moved, Detroit may take advantage of cap. If not them I suspect others.

Detroit isn't at a place from what I can see to make big moves. Another year or two to restock the cupboards.

They need more than Larkin for a high end c to build around.

And it’s not saying you couldn’t pry Domi away, just that it’s going to take much more than a 3rd.
