Can anyone confidently admit they have faith in this team doing something this year? Jordie Benn is frankly not what he used to be and either it will be Poolman or Stanley out which I'm curious to see. This feels like another wasted year and its frustrating as a fan because we finally had a perfect forward group the goaltending was good and here we are in the second year of this defensive issue and there hasn't been a major upgrade on the defensive pairing. We have so many decent prospects that we could have used for a good rental and maybe that was a sacrifice this team should have made. Today was nothing but bitter sadly. All I hope for next season is that either Heinola or Pionk is moved for a big right-shot defenceman and I know fans love those two guys but something has to give, its very risky having 2 small offensive defencemen on a team when the team doesn't even have a number 1 RHD yet. It's a crappy situation for this team but something has to happen.

Lose in round 3 best case scenario, but possibly lose in round 1 or 2

I could see a trip to final 4, but get majorly outclassed in that round, but i could also see a couple 50/50 series to get there

From Chevy's press conference it sounds like Benn is the injury insurance ... 7th defenseman.

I would've preferred Gudbranson, Jakanpaa or Bowey rather then Benn if there were no bigger trades to be made for a better dman.

I'm usually opposed to trading 1sts for rentals but I would've been fine with the Savard trade, this year's 1st is a total crap shoot and the 3rd and 4th that TB traded are long shots to ever amount to anything anyway.

Pretty disappointed, glad we didn't trade an A-prospect away but we could've done better then Jordie Benn for the same cost or slightly more,
winter came back to Manitoba today so guess Chevy thought he should take a Dayoff and not risk coming into the office!

Not worth it for the Jets, I like Murphy but he isn't worth parting with Heinola for.

What about pushing Heinola into a Pionk type of role and using Pionk as a trade chip for a guy similar to Phillipe Myers.
