Right, we would be so much better off with less cap space, defensive depth and center depth. Gotta have those picks back to succeed

Cap space means nothing after the TDL. We gave up a 4th round pick for nothing.

Who cares? This draft class seems week, scouting is extremely difficult, and it's a FOURTH round pick. Doesn't matter. I didn't think leafs fans could be so stupid to complain about having to pay LESS for a player.

I don't think you get it... Leafs fans aren't complaining about having to pay less for a player we are complaining about gaving away a pick for cap space we didn't need or use.

Even if you trade for Hutton, the Leafs still wouldn't use the 1.375M they paid a 4th round pick to save.

Toronto spends the most money in the league on scouting so if it's hard to scout that should make it easier to grab steals in late rounds.

It doesn't take a genius to realize giving up picks for absolutely nothing isn't a smart idea.
