Next Season projection

Created by: Kyle_Davidson
Team: 2021-22 Chicago Blackhawks
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 12, 2021
Published: Apr. 12, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
This is NOT an easy exercise. A lot of the lineup depends on Toews status, but if he is back making the lineup is going to be competitive. Lots of tough decisions on the horizon.

Trades
1.

VAN
  1. De Haan, Calvin
  2. Stillman, Riley [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
This trade is to Seattle. It indicates that they pick Calvin De Hann as the best player available. I will say that the hawks may have made the expansion draft that much harder on themselves with the trades this deadline picking up Gaudette and Borgstrom. I still think De Hann is the correct pick up for Seattle here, but I could see the hawks making sure by sending an extra asset like Stilman or some middle round pick.
2.
CHI
  1. Eriksson, Loui
  2. 2021 3rd round pick (VAN)
  3. 2022 2nd round pick (VAN)
Additional Details:
This seems fair to me. Don't know how palitable it is for Vancouver though.

Stan I know your bias over Nylander but he'd be getting more minutes than Hagel and Suter

I really hope he comes back from injury with something to prove. He should be getting closer.

I don't see Nylander fitting in the lineup, I think the best bet is to trade him for a younger LD with potential that's not named Dermott

Can't see what isn't playing. He was due back third week of April at the earliest, but who knows if he's even skated yet.

My perfect off season would see some package of strome, zadorov, and nylander for a young LD with top pair potential. I just can't think of who that LD could be.

I still think it's dubious to trade away strome.

He just sticks out like a sore thumb on the ice. He doesn't have the same hustle the rest of the guys do. Obviously if Toews doesn't come back you keep strome but when toews does come back they're pretty deep at C. They were deep at C before acquiring borgstrom and gaudette.
