Select Carson Lambos LD Winnipeg ICE
He's a defensively responsible elite skater who makes good decisions in all zones and all situations. Spends at least one extra year in the WHL and projects to be the future top pair d man with Boqvist. He was a projected top 10 pick earlier but everyone said he struggled in Finland (even though I liked what I saw) and hes out for the year with injury. His situation is similar to Morgan Riellys out of junior and I think he can be just as good

Let rights expire/maybe sign to an AHL deal. I don't really see much in any of these players so I doubt any of them get an NHL contract.

              Additional Details:
I dont love dealing Zadorov but hes had a good year and might be asking for a raise out of the range of what I'm willing to pay for a 3rd pair guy. If we're really gonna commit to a rebuild/retool, I'd rather be young and bad on defense than old and still bad on defense, even though Zadorov is really good in his own end. If we can keep him and he isn't asking for more than 3.75-4, it should be okay. Otherwise I like this potential deal for Boston, the left side is a major weakness in Boston as they pretty much only have Grzelcyk and now Mike Reilly (pending UFA) Zadorov provides a combo of youth and NHL experience along with defensive responsibility to play with that elite right side on D.

i think they move Nylander at the draft or package him for seattle to take someone they want to get rid of

If you're Seattle who are you taking from the Hawks? 1st, 2nd, 3rd option. I think you'll likely see the delta between those options is minimal.

I don’t love dumping him when we haven’t seen him in a while. I think he still has middle 6 ability and we should give him that chance. The guy I want Seattle to take is De Haan and if we really need to give up Nylander to get it to happen. Idk I guess so.

I just don't want that BOS trade. Zboril is not what the Hawks need. He won't make the roster.

I get that, I don’t really like the deal myself cause I’m working under the impression that Zadorov is asking for too much for his worth, but I think you’re underrating Zboril a bit. His underlying numbers this year have been pretty decent and I think he’s at worst a fringe NHL guy. The hawks have a lot of young guys they want to give opportunity to and it’s clear they can’t all get it. Speculating is fun, but it’s usually for naught.

De Hann, Carpenter or Connolly, in general Chicago really does not have much available for seattle. Could see them sending Nylander to take De Hann

only got 1 name De Hann. Cause realistically only other guys be Carpenter or Connolly

The only unprotected guys I think Seattle would be interested in are De Haan, Subban, Kampf, and then either Gaudette or Borgstrom, whichever is unprotected.

I can't stand Zadorov tbh. I don't see any of this "responsible in his own end". I see lots of turnovers that lead to goals. I know he is +2, but I just don't like him. Mostly because he was acquired for Saad.

I can't stand Zadorov tbh. I don't see any of this "responsible in his own end". I see lots of turnovers that lead to goals. I know he is +2, but I just don't like him. Mostly because he was acquired for Saad.

I know that you “see” a lot of turnover that lead to goals, but in terms of GA/60 AND xGA/60, he’s actually #1 on the hawks from all of the regular defenseman. He’s not a great skater, but his physicality is valuable to a young group and the traditional stats and advanced stats back up his shutdown ability, even if it sometimes blows up in your face. I would like to see them at least attempt playing Zadorov with Boqvist. Everything Zadorov sucks at (puck moving, skating, puck handling, and offense in general) Boqvist is great at; and everything Boqvist sucks at (physicality, stoping zone entries and defensive stuff in general), Zadorov is great at.
