The 5th line and 4th d pair are better than the 3rd line and 2nd d pair of some teams (very few technically but still) so quite well overall yeah not too shabs ✔

I don’t like your lines like at all. How is Drouin on the 1st line. Tatar should be on a more offensive line. Romanov at RD? Gustafson before Merill?

I personally think that whoever Montreal faces in the first round, they will lose. The only way they could be good, is if Price stands on his head and carries the team. I’m sorry Montreal fans, but you don’t have the center depth to beat the other teams. Montreal: Suzuki, Kotkaniemi. Edmonton: McDavid, Draisaitl. Toronto: Matthews, Tavares. Winnipeg: Scheifele, Dubois.

Same as the defence: Montreal: Edmundson-Weber, Chiarot- Petry, Gustafsson-Merrill. Edmonton: Nurse-Barrie, Kulikov-Larsson, Russell-Koekkoek. Toronto: Reilly-Brodie, Muzzin-Holl, Hutton-Bogosian. Winnipeg: Morrissey-Poolman, Forbort-Pionk, Benn-DeMelo.

I never understood the obsession with putting numbers on lines.

Tatar, Drouin, and Byron looked pretty offensively impressive last night, fwiw.

Gustafsson has scored more often than Roman Josi this season it's just low TOI making the numbers look low but he's still on pace for 30+ pts in 82 games

1.0 primary pts/60 (Gus) to 0.9 primary pts/60 (Rjo)

Also not too far behind Josi in terms of Corsi

It's odd you cite C depth but omit the two bottom centers especially given Danault & Estaal are way better than almost all other 3/4 centers in the north 🧐

Helps balance out

Also this D core is easily comparable to WPG/EDM all told given their lack of depth especially with Romanov/Kulak being the 4th pair as you implied

Montreal’s defence isn’t as good as the other 3 Canadian teams. Especially with the depth, and veteran presence. Danault and Staal doesn’t make up for the top 2 lines. The top 6 takes on the heavy load, and takes WAY more face offs than the bottom 6 does. They don’t have the center depth, and defence to beat any of them, even if Price does really good.
